Neurodiversity at Work
In the workplace, managing a successful career requires energy, but how do you flourish if you are not neurotypical? How much energy is spent trying to navigate the day-to-day reality that for others seems easy?
For neurotypicals, how do you accommodate colleagues who may be neurodiverse? How do you make sense of behavior that might not be your norm? Can you distinguish between cultural differences and neurodiversity? What assumptions are you making?
In this workshop, Jacinta Noonan, ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) specialist, will share with you the definition of Neurodiversity; the traits that characterize ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia and the strengths inherent in these conditions.
By the end of the session, you will have practical information that will help you recognize and appreciate neurodiversity in your workplace. For those who are neurotypical, you will have a new appreciation of your different colleagues and how to work well together. You will learn how to lighten the load so your colleague can use their energy being themselves, instead of burning energy trying to fit in.
It’s time for neurodivergent employees to come forward, to be seen and to better understand themselves, and it’s time for those of us who work alongside them to be open and flexible to other ways of being.
Neurodiversity exists in the world, so let’s embrace it in the workplace too. Through understanding and acceptance of ‘other’, we can all thrive and enjoy career success.

Working with ADHD Colleagues
Do you work alongside an ADHD colleague or manager? Do you need insight into what ADHD is and how to understand why your colleague does (or doesn’t do!) certain things? Is your colleague brilliant one minute and infuriating the next? Is he/she full of ideas, but needs chasing to meet deadlines? In this workshop, I aim to you bring deeper understanding of ADHD/ADD so that interactions with these colleagues will start to make sense. As a result, you will know how to work more effectively together without feeling things are out of control. But most importantly, you will learn how to pay less attention to the ADHD traits and focus more on how valuable your colleague is.
